I am not just posting random silly pictures this time, i figured i’d upload some tips and stuff. I realise that not everyone plays like me, but still it might be helpful =) Should you need it. OH yeah and this post contains spoilers obviously.
Oh he might have went on living but he made one fatal slip,
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip.
Veronica is a good character imho to start off with, her power fist is pretty kick ass, and you get all the brotherhood of steel quests if you have her with you, effortlessly, you can get them anyway, but its a bit harder.
The King, leader of the gang called ‘the kings’ – i think it’s a good thing to stay on his good side, and he have some decent quests too. PLUS i totally want his dog =( i miss dogmeat, and i want Rex (his dogs name is Rex.) Dunno if you can actually get a dog, i think you can get a robo dog, i seem to have read that somewhere, and i am not sure if it’s Rex or another dog. I have not finished all of The King’s quests so i don’t know if i get a option to snatch or buy his dog.
MUCH. MUCH better!!! You can find this Tesla-Beaton Prototype gun at the crashed vertibird site btw.. and well this picture ALSO raises the question if a blind deathclaw is better than the others? answer is no. They still suck! (the tesla gun is a heavy weapon so you need to be able to carry and shoot it)
So i went on the quest to find the fallen BoS soldiers, and made the mistake of giving Veronica one of these powerarmours to hold. she automatically jumped in it, and borked my game =( it corrupted every save game where she wore this, and so i had to go WAY back *grr* SO do NOT give her one to carry!
So starting over, i had to go and find the damn Tesla-Beaton Prototype gun at the crash site again, and this is what meets you. *sigh* but it’s worth it, it’s a kick ass gun! (the vertibird crashsite is WAY in the bottom of your world map, almost at the bird flies from New Vegas.)
So since i had to start over on some stuff i had completed before. And i knew that Jean-Baptiste Cutter asks me to fetch him Cass, and so i fired Veronica and went and picked up Cass. She is super handy btw, her rifle loads slowly, but she aims like a goddess. And well the reason for no images of all the gameplay with her is because it was mostly repeat stuff or just random roaming the wasteland. This image is from the Nellis airbase tho. I hate that place, mostly because it’s ridiculously hard to get there, and because its huge, and makes my game freeze up and lags there. Oh and the rifle you see on Shark’s back, is the tri-beam laser, that was my absolute fav rifle, besides the sniper rifle. (same as in Fallout 3)
So i brought Cass to the Silver Rush, and chose to stand by her, because crazy as she is, i sorta like her. So they all started shooting on me. *sigh* and i had to kill them all, which is NOT easy or anything. You don’t loose any Karma, nor from shooting them, or looting the shop, even if all the stuff is red. I know that if you carry out the kick out Elder McNamara, and help Head Paladin Hardin to become Elder Hardin, then his quest he gives you, is to kill these people.. maybe that is why, maybe it’s a neutral action. They are REALLY hard to kill, and all have power weapons.
But if you follow Cass’ quest and apparently a part of it is to kill the Van Graff’s at the Silver Rush, then she wants to kill the woman who runs the Crimson Caravan too, and i tried just about everything to do this without killing anyone, but it just wouldn’t work out. And eventually when i had emptied all possibilities i told Cass to fuck off, and hence failed her quest. But still all in all she does bring some good XP’s to the table. Maybe i should have saved the game and tried to off that old bat that runs the Crimson Caravan, but i didn’t, i am not a girl-scout but it just sounded wrong.
So i went back to the 188 and picked up Veronica again 😉
If you do the ‘still in the dark’ quest for the brotherhood of steel, it sends you to vault 11. This vault is a creepy ass place, and i recommend that you loot the fuck out of it, since the enemies there are minimal, and there is no radiation or nothing so you can just take your time. try all the terminals and search for holotapes and such, because the story about this vault is really awesome, and i won’t say too much about it and spoil it all.
Fallout Wiki; The entire Vault has been plastered with propaganda for an election for a new Overseer. The election seems to be unusual in that each candidate is expressing outrage at having been nominated and trying to point out not only their innocence but why the other candidates deserve to be Overseer for their sins. Deeper in the vault it becomes clear there has been fighting, with barricades and some traps. At the conclusion of the term of an Overseer, they are required to enter a chamber below the Overseer’s Office to offer their own life, otherwise the computer controlling the Vault will execute the entire population. The computer does not require that the sacrifice should be the Overseer; of the original residents, only the Overseer entered the Vault cognizant of the regular sacrifices that would be required to provide life and shelter for the remainder of the Vault’s residents. The residents of the vault, in their shock and anger at the discovery after having already been sealed inside the vault, demanded that the sacrifice be chosen democratically, and, further, chose the Overseer (who they viewed as having betrayed them) as the first sacrifice. This would marry the positions of Overseer and Sacrifice until the end.
So underneath the overseer’s office there is a sacrificial chamber, to access this you either have to find the password or have a hack skill on 100. But once inside you see a stupid very creepy video, and the sides open and a shitload of robots are tossed in your face. (if you have a companion the do not follow you down there), and now why i uploaded this image. What you need is to get through the door that i drew an arrow to, and do NOT shoot the turrents. This can’t be done unless you go into god-mode before entering the damn chamber. See there is a glitch in the game here, if you shoot the turrents, (there is 6 of them) then you fail your main quest, and Mr. House won’t speak to you, because the damn turrents is apparently owned by Lucky 38. Some might not encounter this glitch, but me along with a shitload of other people have met it, enough so it’s mentioned as a bug on the wiki.
When you make your way to Sloan, you get a quest to rid the quarry of deathclaws, Sloan is btw where Moira’s evil twin lives (Jas) But since my fucking game borked, this was the second time i was here, so i figured i’d offer you some advice on what worked for me, because this quest is actually pretty hard if you don’t do it right. I died like a gazillion times.
First you make your way from Sloan to the quarry, the move along the mountain wall on the right, slowly and carefully, shoot the deathclaws that see you, that is like maybe two.
In the middle of the quarry there is a tower with 3 slides, left, right, and back, the first slide you pass is the back, you can’t shoot anything from there, so you keep following the mountain wall till you see the one that is on the right, jump down on that and hurry up to the top. It does honestly only work if you have the sniper rifle since dynamite or granades won’t reach the deathclaws.
To make sure.. there is a lake in the far end of the quarry, this is where the mother and alpha male deathclaw is with their babies. Basically you want to shoot them without them seeing you. You do not want them to see you and flock on yo ass!
I also wanted to offer a little help on the sex-robot quest. because it took me AGES to figure that one out. First go to Mick and Ralph’s and ask them to make you a sexbot holotape, it takes some days before it’s done, so go do something else and return to Freeside after a couple of days and pick it up. I might mention that if your science is high enough you don’t need a holotape, you can program the fucker yourself. But then you run from Mick and Ralph’s, past the Mormon fort, and turn right to where that King gang member stands by a water pump and demands money from you if you want a sip, you run past him and keep to the left, around the block so to say, between the old cars, and there you find Cerulian Robotics. Gotta love that FISTO offers you some Robot hanky panky if you want it.
